Not every team has played their opening matches yet, but that hasn't stopped the scouts at Soccer Syndicate from evaluating the top talents in the league so far!

Aleksandar Vukovic – CB – Capo FC

Vukovic is a big, athletic, and most importantly intelligent defender that can excel in both a back three and a back four system as the left central defender. Early on this season for Capo FC, he’s controlled the back line, winning pretty much every duel he runs into and has had no issue making positive passes and retaining possession. He’ll be one of the central figures for Capo this season.

Jack Wagoner – CDM – St. Charles FC

Wagoner is the definition of control in attack, but as a defensive midfielder with a reputation for being a metronome (which is a good thing!) he’s added a pair of goals for St. Charles early in the season. Wagoner’s best attribute is his intelligence, as he’s adept at releasing pressure in transition and in recycling attacks. He also finds opportunities to crash the box and usually is in a supporting role for his teammates.

Will he develop into a star this summer?

Omar Yehya – F – Redlands FC

Yehya can play anywhere along the front line and make the entire defense look silly. He’s already a star for Redlands, with pace in bunches and a hat trick to his name this season. He has a distinct burst and can time his runs to give him an extra step of separation beyond what his pace gives him. Yehya is a force to be reckoned with, and a team playing Redlands can’t fall asleep, or else they’ll be seeing his number as he breaks through on goal.

Maximiliano Viera – CAM/RM – River Light FC

Viera has speed and strength in spades. He can lay a pass forward, or cross it into the box, and can find success on the wing as well as in the middle of the pitch. He puts constant pressure on the opposition’s box with his passing and can dominate an area when given the opportunity. The 19-year-old has a lot of soccer ahead of him.

Ryan Baer – CDM – Asheville City SC

Baer is a huge reason for Asheville City SC’s early success. He’s steady in possession, with great awareness on and off the ball. He’s quick to direct teammates, and is usually right in his directions. He has a steady first touch, can feel and spin away from pressure, and it’s nearly impossible to get the ball off him once he decides he doesn’t want you to have it.

Christian Engmann – CB – Ballard FC

Engmann was injured during last season’s League Two Final, and while Ballard won the match anyway, they would’ve loved to have his presence. He’s athletic, intelligent and smooth on the ball. He can be fluid in his distribution, especially in those channel passes down the side. He’s a key part of the Ballard back line, and scored the club’s equalizer against Tacoma Stars.

Charlie Kosakoff – ST – Tacoma Stars

Kosakoff is a powerful striker that can take over a game if the opposing center backs aren’t ready. He looks to get in behind, but has the stature to set up as a target man and turn. He scored in Tacoma’s draw with defending champions Ballard, and brings an element of aggression and energy into the Stars front line.

Nicholas Kaloukian – ST – Cedar Stars Rush

Kaloukian couldn’t have started the season much better – a hat trick in only 60 minutes of play in the season opener, and he looks every bit the star he was billed as. He can change the game with his strength and finishing, and has the pace to get in behind when needed. He has the chance to cement himself in the Golden Boot race this season.

Samuel Terranova – GK – North Carolina FC U-23

The NCFC U-23 keeper quite literally can’t have done any better to start the season – through three games, he’s not let a single goal past him. The 20-year-old keeper has already made his mark at North Carolina State, and has an Academy contract with the club’s senior team. He’s already off to a great start for his League Two side.

Santiago Hoyos – F – Salem City SC

Hoyos has had a productive start to the season, scoring two goals in his first three matches. The Gardner-Webb man is a big striker that is efficient with his chances and has the opportunity to grow into a star for Salem City this season.
