FOUR MORE D1 PLAYERS SET TO JOIN 2020 ROSTER

SALEM, Ore. -- Timbers U23 release four more players set to join the 2020 squad. All four players are NCAA Division 1 athletes coming from Arizona, Washington, Nevada, and California. All players are Pending League and Federation Approval.

Esai Easley | Centerback  Grand Canyon University

Esai is a Sophomore from Kona Hawaii and just finished up this fall season 2nd it total minutes played as a highly valuable player for GCU. Esai was given All WAC Honorable Mention Honors this past fall as one of the top CB’s in the Conference. Esai was named the WAC Defender of the Week Sep 9-15 for his performance in a 1-0 shutout against Oregon St. Esai is also an excellent student as he was named to the Academic All-WAC Team for Men’s Soccer this last fall. Esai left Hawaii as a young teenager in his pursuit to play soccer at the highest level possible. He spent that time with the Seattle Sounders and De Anza Force in the DA and had training stints with Chievo Verona Youth Academy and Manchester Youth Academy.

Cole Rovegno | Leftback | Gonzaga University

Cole is a freshman from Folsom California who just finished up a fantastic freshman campaign logging 1,371 minutes, 15 starts in 15 games, with 1 goal and 4 assists in the LB position. Cole was recognized for his solid freshman year by being named to the WCC All Freshman Team and WCC Honorable Mention Honors. Cole played youth soccer for Sacramento Republic in the DA where he helped lead his team to the DA Playoffs in 2018. 

Marco Gonzalez | Midfielder | University of Nevada Las Vegas

Marco is a Junior from Las Vegas Nevada who has stood out as one of the best MF’s in all of the WAC. As a Freshman Marco appeared in all 21 games where he scored 6 goals and had 6 assists. His 18 points were the 3rd highest in UNLV history for a freshman and he was named to both the All WAC Freshman Team and WAC Honorable Mention Honors. As a Sophomore Marco appearing in all 21 games again finishing with 10 goals and 3 assists which finished him 5th in the WAC in points with 23. Marco was named 2nd Team All WAC and 3rd Team All-West Region for his performance. As a Junior Marco played in all 21 games and recorded 3 goals and 3 assists with over 1,500 min played. In his youth Marco made the move from Las Vegas to Casa Grande Arizona to play for the RSL Academy in the DA where he was a part of the Southwest Division Championship team that reached the DA National Quarter Finals. 

Sebastian Schacht | Midfielder | St. Mary’s College of California 

Sebastian is a sophomore from New Zealand who’s helped lead St. Mary’s to back to back record years in 2018 and 2019. As a Freshman in 2018 Sebastain started in 20 games logging over 1,700 minutes and scoring 1 goal and providing 4 assists. For his efforts he was named Freshman of the Year in the WCC and to the WCC All-Freshman Team. As a Sophomore he started 17 games logging over 1,400 minutes while scoring 3 goals and providing 4 assists. Sebastian was named to the 2019 WCC 1st Team and 2019 All-West Region 2nd Team.
